Our Story

Built from the farm.
Built for the farmer.

MyAgroBuddi began with a farmer's question: what if the everyday work of a farmer could become something the world could finally see, understand and trust?

The problem was bigger than farming records.

MyAgroBuddi did not begin in a boardroom. It began with a farmer.

After years of working in agriculture, I kept seeing the same problem from different angles. Farmers were producing, selling, spending, surviving and building real businesses — but very little of that activity became a record anyone outside the farm could trust.

I knew that problem personally. I had experienced what it meant to run a real agricultural business without the kind of financial history a bank could understand. And I began to ask a different question:

“What if the everyday activity of a farmer could become their financial identity?”

That question became MyAgroBuddi.

I started building from zero — learning, experimenting, coding, breaking things, rebuilding them and figuring out the technology as I went. What began as one farmer trying to solve a problem became a three-year journey to build something much bigger: a platform that can help farmers become visible, verifiable and connected to the people and institutions that can help them grow.

3 years of thinking.
4½ months of building.

The vision took years to find its form. The build happened in a sprint.

From Pigmetrics to a WhatsApp AI platform built from zero, every failed approach, every pause and every pivot helped shape what MyAgroBuddi became.

The railway station,
not the trains

The farmer should not have to search for a different system every time they need something.

A farmer may need a vet today, an agronomist tomorrow, inputs next month, a buyer at harvest or financing when the next production cycle begins. MyAgroBuddi gives that farmer one trusted starting point — Buddi.

Buddi understands the farmer, builds a verified history of their activity and connects them to the right people and institutions when they need them. We are not trying to become every service ourselves. We are building the railway station that connects them all.

Farmer working on a farm

Nigeria has over 12 million smallholder farmers. Most have no formal financial identity. MyAgroBuddi is building that identity — one WhatsApp conversation at a time.

Our values

Farmer first, always

Every feature is tested against one question — does this make life better for the farmer today? If it does not, we do not build it.

Trust through behaviour

We do not ask for collateral. We watch what farmers do consistently over time. Consistency is the only collateral that matters.

Consent is sacred

No farmer data is shared without explicit consent. No partner sees a profile without the farmer agreeing. This is not compliance — it is respect.

Partners, not vendors

Experts and suppliers on our platform are partners in the farmer's journey. We hold everyone accountable for outcomes, not just introductions.

Radical simplicity

If a 60-year-old farmer in rural Benue cannot use it on WhatsApp, it does not belong in the product. Complexity is exclusion.

Long-term thinking

We are building a 10-year institution. Every decision today is made with year seven in mind, not year one.

It took years to find the right way to build it.

MyAgroBuddi did not begin as MyAgroBuddi.

In July 2023, the idea was much smaller. I wanted to build a web application for pig farmers called Pigmetrics — something that could help farmers keep better records and understand their businesses.

I paid a developer ₦60,000 to build it. It turned out badly, and eventually the developer stopped taking my calls. It was frustrating, but the idea did not die.

In July 2024, I attended the ASBON conference, and the vision shifted. I stopped thinking only about pig farmers and began thinking about every farmer — and what could happen if farmers could access experts, suppliers, markets, finance and insurance through one connected system.

I began making inquiries and speaking with development agencies. By November, the numbers were sobering. Initial development estimates were approaching ₦100 million. And knowing how often I refine ideas, I knew the real cost could become far higher. If I woke up one morning and decided a feature needed to change, be removed or completely rebuilt, I could have been looking at something closer to ₦200 million.

So I stopped.

For more than a year, I kept thinking about the problem and searching for a way to build the vision without destroying myself financially.

Then, in December 2025, I came across a LinkedIn post about apps being essentially useless for farmers. It stopped me. I asked myself a simple question: Would I download an app just to use it for farming?

Probably not. But I already use WhatsApp. Why can't Buddi come to the farmer instead?

That was the pivot.

I explored having freelancers build the WhatsApp version, but the quotes were still significant. More importantly, I began to realize that the people I was speaking with could not see the full weight and complexity of the vision I was carrying.

Then, in March 2026, I had another thought: Claude can code. Why don't I ask Claude to help me build?

I started with MySOSAlert and built the app in about four weeks. Then, on April 12, 2026, I began building MyAgroBuddi directly on Meta.

Four and a half months later, Buddi is here. From Pigmetrics - Agroconnect - MyAgroBuddi.

And those four months have been relentless. I have kept retooling, adding, removing and reshaping the product. Almost every day, I see something that needs to be changed because the vision itself keeps becoming clearer.

And I would be ungrateful if I told this story without acknowledging God and the Holy Spirit. What could have been a nightmare of development costs and endless negotiations became something I could actually build, test and keep improving — one idea and one line of code at a time.

Where we are going

We are building in phases. Each one unlocks the next. The destination is a farmer-owned financial ecosystem.

Phase 1

Trust and Verification

Build the farmer base. Prove the verification score. Close first lender partnerships. Establish MyAgroBuddi as the most trusted agricultural platform in Nigeria. This is where we are now.

Phase 2

Verification API and Institutional Partnerships

License the verification score to banks, insurers and government programmes as a standalone API. Partners fund their scale using our verified farmer data. We earn on every transaction our data enables.

Phase 3

The Farmer Financial Institution

A farmer bank built on the most comprehensive smallholder financial database on the continent. Farmers who built their score with us become our first customers and loudest advocates.

We are building this together

We are looking for Field Champions, agricultural experts, input suppliers, cooperative leaders and institutional partners who believe in this mission.
